Wanna see something neato……..?
Binta Armchair by Swiss Designer Philippe Bestenheider…. I LOVE the African Textiles and often think to myself that I need to work harder to incorporate this kind of pattern mix into my life. The shape of this chair is said to be reminiscent of traditional woodcarving - which I can totally see… but honestly, I’m smacked with love for the pattern combos….

I also found these other projects by Philippe Bestenheider to stir the imagination……..
Let’s take a break from home design for a hot minute because I need to ask your opinion on something…something to ponder over the weekend perhaps.
My husband Dan and I were discussing apparel last night because I was showing him this dress that I NEED! We started looking at the men’s department and ran across these tank tops…for men. Dan said he thought that he could pull off wearing one of these…
Your thoughts on men and tank tops, is it something that is reserved for surfers and Nascar fans or can Dan rock it in Target on a Sunday pushing DC in the cart?

The Alexander Girard collection is available at Urban Outfitters and we have some serious love for the Multiform Quilt.
Hello lovely colors…

This post is dedicated solely to the awesomeness of Jamie at iSuwannee.com, to thank her for being so great. We met through the blogworld and she has become a fast friend that I love with all of my heart. She is just around the corner from launching her FURBISH DESIGN Website and is taking the plunge into the world of Freelance Decorating.

Please swing by Indie N.C. to see this CLASS that Jamie is teaching there.
How to Find Your Home Decorating Style & Create a Room That Works
If you are in the Eastern side of the state, you should really attend.
There’s a small movement in Hickory, NC to enliven downtown’s old factories and warehouses with commercial and residential renovation. I’ve only seen a few examples and was really gracious to have had the opportunity to visit with Sarah Frisbey and see the work that she and John Paul Eller did with their downtown space, once a cotton storage warehouse.

Welcome.

I loved the way the blue velvet chairs popped. Also, note the handmade coffee table (made from an old door). Sarah clearly makes pink work and her eclectic sensibilities were inspiring to me. (The damask on the couches made me think she had channeled a more boho Tricia Guild.)

The bright green sets off a really great exhibition space filled with artwork by some of my favorite local artists Joe Lafone, Steve Brooks and Patti Fenick.

I love that the exposed bathtub and oversized nudes give the master bedroom an intense intimacy.
If you want to see more pictures, you can do so here at my Picasa Page. I wish that I had better photography skills so I could really show more of the details of the home. Either way, I’m happy to have met these fine folks here in Hickory and I’m encouraged and inspired with what they have done to preserve and enhance a historic structure in my hometown.
