Sarah’s House: Hall Light Fixture

I need a new light fixture for our downstairs hallway. We plan to paint the walls and trim and need to replace the dated pendant.

After some consideration, I’ve decided that I don’t really like the idea of a pendant there. So choice #1, the Royce star pendant was eliminated from the field.

The front runner right now is the mini smokebell lantern, choice #5.

I’d like something classic and understated that offers a little more than 60 watts and this one fits the bill nicely.

Smokebell it is. Ordered and waiting for arrival. This is what it replaced,

It was hard to let go…but somehow we found the strength to shut the breaker off and carefully remove this unique fixture.

UPDATE

Here’s the finished product,

The fixture is the mini smokebell lantern, the paint color is Benjamin Moore Wickham Gray

I’m pretty happy with the result. Why do I say “pretty happy” well because I really want to remodel the whole wing!
