It’s been a while since we posted about a featured Etsy seller. Can’t think of a better way to make a come back than with artists Kristina Sostarko + Jason Odd, collectively known as inaluxe.

inaluxe began in 2006 with Australian artist Kristina Sostako. Kristine was later joined by Jason Odd in May of 2010.
I absolutely adore the colors used in their work.

They drop the word on their secret sales and give aways at their blog.

Beautiful don’t you think?
Do ya?
My Dad is super cute. He emailed me with this pic and says he can’t remember why, but he knew that he was supposed to keep his eye out for these and snag them for me should he ever come across any. Maybe I’ll get it all sculpturized one day!!

I began reading Jamie’s blog From Me To You last year. I included her in my blog it forward inspiration post back in March and Jamie continues to inspire me everyday.

In addition to sharing all of the beautiful scenes that Jamie captures through her lens, she also shares some pretty amazing recipes.

The Jazz Singer series
For those of us who have Iphones (personally wouldn’t have it any other way) Jamie offers free wallpaper. I love the offering for the month of June– images from Coney Island.

Have I clearly expressed my appreciation for the photographic work of James Merrell?

I wish James Merrell would come to my house and take beautiful photographs of DC and I lying around on the sofa, looking as if we were bearing the weight of the world on our shoulders and contemplating all sorts of complex…stuff.

Rita Konig’s apartment, featured in Domino. This is a fun room to examine and take apart.

Notice the loveseat in this photo. It looks like it has been upholstered with three different fabrics and I love it! Striped on back, aqua on top, darker color on the bottom, maybe brown or navy? The dark color is repeated in the tufting and in the stripe.

With his book Jones Beach, Joseph Szabo may have been succcessful in making icons out of a unique and unlikely group.

Joseph Szabo snapped photographs at Jones Beach for three decades capturing a diverse group of tourists.
The book is due out April 1st. You can buy it here.
We are fans of music poster art! I love to pick through gigposters.com looking for inspiring imagery. You can imagine my glee walking through the aisles of the SXSW Flatstock sale.

Unfortunately, they didn’t have the Avett Brothers posters of my dreams.
Yesterday I stopped by my favorite consignment store, Karen’s Attic. If you live within driving distance of Karen’s Attic and you haven’t stopped in, I would have to ask why and then I would insist that you go there.
I was thumbing through some artwork at Karen’s and pulled this out…

It was such a good score for $6.00.
Bryn admired it and thought about using it in a black bedroom.

And it was spotted in a nook in the recent issue of Lonny

In addition to the owl print, I also couldn’t resist this little pair of brass doves/partridges,

There are so many fantastic finds at Karen’s, it deserves its own post coming… tomorrow.
Karen’s Attic is located at 5689 US Hwy-1 Southern Pines, NC 28387. Call Karen at the store at 910-693-8008.
This is my vintage Remington portable typewriter after passing through some filters in Photoshop. Its not only good for looking pretty! It also invites impromptu lines from us and our visitors, banging on its keys is quite fun. It sits on the Jimmy (our buffet/console thing that we found on the side of the street). I love to stop by it occasionally to see what lines our friends have added to the most recent piece of paper! Regardless of who participates, it usually reads back like poetry. Its a great aspect of our apartment that is turning into our home.

Just when I decided that I wanted to do my own striped art canvas (yes I’m still talking and not doing) like this one,

or this one in a bedroom in Elle Decor,

I started reading all of this talk about creating your own abstract canvas or creating a dynamite grouping in a single evening like these canvases that Mrs. Blandings wrote about,

or making swell art out of red tickets,

via Blue Bell Bazaar
or framing fabric or wallpaper like this,

Summer Thornton

image via Domino, posted recently at Little Green Notebook
or making your own abstract or your own modern masterpiece like this,

Lee Kleinhelter

Brian Willis, Blue Moon
You can see how I got a little distracted.
After finding this suzani on Ebay for my friend Kristin who wants to frame one and hang it over her sofa, I told her why not just paint your own canvas, its cheaper, way more fun and all of the kids are doing it.

***Update*** One of our readers Christina emailed us and inquired about the yellow floral wallpaper in the Summer Thornton room. It is Kimura and it can be purchased at Walnut Wallpaper among other places.
